This collection of classic ballads seems to typify the saxophonist's growth in stature. Every phrase is given time to breathe and his timing is quite superb. Controlled emotion is very much a Liebman characteristic, his arrangements fostering a textural aspect of his music and his solos laid out with a draughtsman's care for symmetry. David dedicated this album to his mother-in-law Natalie for her wonderful dedication in following his career and listening to his music.
